Week 8: Christmas

Hola everyone! Feliz Noche Buena! It's super weird that its already christmas eve. Christmas has always been something that puts me in agony from all the anticipation. Ever since I've been on the mission it just hasn't felt like christmas. I love all the christmas hymns though. I wish we could sing them all year round. Im finna do that if I ever become a bishop. Yesterday was pretty cool. It was awesome getting to talk to the fam. We were able to talk for an hour and a half, which is pretty generous. My comp said he's only ever gotten an hour. It still wasn't enough of course. Things are so crazy here in Guatemala. I couldn't explain it all in that call and I definitely can't do it over email. After we talked to our families we went into like the town square to carol. Its out of my area but it is so cool and pretty. The buildings are all super old and it just makes me wonder how the architecture devolved since then. Caroling was way cool though. I was surprised that we actually had a pretty big crowd gather to watch. It was funny cuz you had our soft little acapella group next to an evangelical rock concert haha. The spirit was so different and I think people noticed. I talked to two guys that were about 25 and they were way cool. We talked for a long time and seemed pretty interested. I got them to come to church and mutual on tuesday but they freakin live in the hermanas area. The hermanas get everything. 

Today was pretty fun. We went over to the marbles (senior missionaries) apartment, which is like the nicest place Ive been to in this country, and baked cookies and played games with about 6 other missionaries. It was way fun and now they gave us 2 and a half hours to email which was veryyyy generous. I spent 30 minutes trying to upload photos tho and it didnt even work. All of my pictures are too big. So I think I'll just start sending pics from the field and not worry about the mtc. 

I really love christmas and I love focusing on the savior. I love all the videos that the church puts out. Siempre Poderoso. Lately Ive been reading in the Bible cuz I don't know as much as I'd like to. It's soooo good. Anytime Jesus speaks in the bible or bom is absolute fuego. Which makes sense cuz hes Jesus but yeah I just finished mateo and its good to read right before christmas. I read like the first 10 chapters of Jesus the Christ which is awesome to read right before christmas but then I found out we can't read it on the mission! I was so mad but it's all good. Literally like a few months ago they made the missionaries read it. 

Anyway I hope everyone has a good christmas and just remember your family and remember Christ. I know probably everyone says that but its true. Its the most important thing and I can't even remember the presents I got last year soooo love you guys and I'll write you next week.
