Week 10: God straight up answered my prayer
*this is straight unedited, semantic and spelling errors in tact. This is Danny and I didn't even edit it for grammar, which is killing me. But here it is in all its raw glory.
God straight up answered my prayer. I´ll get to that later tho. Getting on the roof for new years was probs one of the best decisions ever. Made such a big difference. It was so cool, we could see the entire valley. The whole city was just poppin off. It was crazy and super pretty. Not everyone waited til midnight so it wasn´t like a sudden explosion but it went on for like 20 minutes and literally every house was lighting off mortars so that was cool. Weird to think it´s 2019 tho. Last year I was going into my last semester of my senior year and thinking about starting my papers. Time is a weird thing. I hate the saying time flies cuz I know it´s true but in the moment it feels like forever. Plus it feels longer when your comp is leaving in two weeks and every person you talk to asks about it haha we good tho.
Wednesday was long awaited Dia De Millenial its a day at the start of the month where we only knock doors all day. I was scared in anticipation because we never knock doors here, we mainly work through the members. Everyone´s supposed to get 15 cosechas. Which is just ask to say a prayer with the fam and set an appt. Thats what we do instead of "tracting" and cosechar means to harvest like in DyC 4 so its cooler. We started the day at 10 with the goal of 5 at lunch. The first like 10 houses didn´t want anything to do with us which was disappointing but then we went to a different street that was straight money. The first people let us in and then after we were walking and I saw these two guys talking in front of their house and I thought we should go talk to them. It didn´t feel like a huge spiritual prompting but I just thought porqué no? So I told my comp and he was like aight if you want.
So then we went to talk to them and usually he does all the talking but he just looked at me and I was like hmmmm bet. So I started talking to them they didn´t seem too into it but then I asked to come in and he just went in to his house and like a minute later a new guy comes out and was like ELDERS! Turns out he was a member that lives somewhere else visiting. So we talked to his HUGE family of like 10 people and turns out that the man of the house went missing on monday and they were pretty freaked out. So we prayed for them and set an appt for a few days later but they were pretty chill. Literally the next house was this guy who was like 25 and he spoke like perfect english and the elders talked to him like 6 months ago and he said one of his goals this year was to read the Libro de Mormón. So yeah that day was a lot better than I thought it would be.
Friday there was this huge meeting for lideres so a bunch of guys stayed at our house the night before which is always lit. One of whom was THE ELDER MADOX. Yeah the one that I´ve gone to school with for like 5 years. His comps a district leader and so me and him and this other guy went on splits for the day. It was way cool and way cool to be with him for the day. We stayed in my area and it was a bit scary cuz I had to be like the senior comp and plan the day and stuff but it actually went pretty well. We saw a few milagros tbh, cant say them all cuz I{m almost out of time but one was, THE MUSIC RULE GOT CHANGED! I was so hyped. That was what the meeting was about. They changed a whole bunch of rules. That was the prayer God answered. No lie i straight up prayed about that. I was kinda thinking in like a few months or like a year or something but nah one week later. So sick. Now we can listen to xxxtentacion and 6ix9ine so we get pretty hyped. Nah jk but its a lot better now.
We had a baptism on saturday and Elder thompson baptized him. Hes elder madoxs comp so they stayed another night. It was so sick. They are both so cool and we just stayed up all night talking and being goobers. And the baptism went so long that they missed their bus and had to stay another night haha so it was way dope.Anyways peace out-Elder Severe
