Week 19: Then one of the worst nights of my life began
This week has been quite rough for me.
So Tuesday we met with a mas o menos contact who said we could pass by sometime. Which basically means Im not interested. So we came back and her 16 year old son told us to come in. We taught them and it was cool. But then after they just talked to us forever and we actually became super tight. The mom is still mas o menos but the son is super positiva. They have a daughter that is super crazy. Shes like 25 and super evangelico. Doesnt want anything to do with our message, but everything to do with us… She straight up told me that she had the eye for me. Then we said we would come back in a few days and she was like ohhh they said they were coming back for me and then did the most blood curdling laugh. It gives me nightmares. Anyways that night we were walking home from a village like 20 minutes or more outside of santa ana when my stomach just started twisting and turning. It killed but somehow I made it home without using the bano outside of the bano.
Wednesday I slept in for most of the morning and tried to proselyte at like 2. It was dia de milenial and we hit the goal of 15 in like 30 minutes. Then we had to go to something at the church for an hour, then we had a cita and after I wr and in the park they were celebrating Carnival. Idk what it really is, but all the guys were dressed up as girls. I guess that stuff finally made it to Guatemala.
Thursday I felt pretty much fine. But at night it was a bit worse. I had to use the bano at a members house and it wasnt super pretty and like 20 minutes later we were at the super chill families house with the crazy daughter and I had to go again and I couldnt wait. I asked if the had a bano, cuz you never know, and they said yes. So they take me around the corner, under a barbed wire fence and just points into the wilderness. He said he would illuminate me with his phone. I wasnt about that so I called Elder Hinckley to save me. Idk what happened but the guy I guess changed his mind and took me through the forest to his sisters house and she had a toilet I could use, without plumbing but, it got the job done. Then I came back and we talked and apparently last time, I told the crazy daughter that I had the eye for her. That was a bit scary but the little brother helped me out of that situation.
Friday I felt alright until lunch. After lunch I felt super sick. I went home and took a bomb nap. Like really good. After I had the worst stomach pain ever. Idk what it was but for like 2 hours it was just a constant like stabbing and I had EH give me a priesthood blessing. Ive been fine ever since. It was scary cuz we thought I had a parasite. I might still have one but since I got better, I got to have fun this pday instead of go to xela to the doctor.
Saturday we didnt do anything except go to a district meeting in colo because there were a lot of changes this cambio. It was dope though because it was dia de mercado there because it was saturday and usually we have district meeting on tuesdays. Colo has its own corte and its super sick so me and EH bought some and were gonna make ties and sell them and Its gonna be lit.
Sunday wasnt anything too special. We had the randomest guy pull up to church and me and EH got so happy when he walked in. Hes not the most intelligente and he cant read and probably has problems with drinking and smoking and we told him on like thursday that he could come to church, not really expecting a lot, put the man pulled through! Literally we got so hyped and we ran up to him and tried to let him feel loved. He probably was very confused the whole time because our rama is a bit different at times, but it was cool.
Pday was super tranquilo. We went to a members ranch in Nenton. Hes super chill, one of my fav members in this rama. He got baptised a few months ago and was a hard drinker before but left alcohol the day he found out about the word of wisdom. So yeah he took us up to his rancho. This man is chillin like how I want to be. We got there and this guy called up all his homies and we just chilled. They made a caldo or like a stew and just bro{d down. Theyre all like 60 too which is kinda tight. The ride back kinda sucked. We took another Guatemala bus packed full of Guatemaltecos. I was kinda doing a half wall sit on like the edge of the seat, for like an hour. Oh and a baby threw up on me.
So that was my week.
