Week 21: We took our mattresses off the bed and put them together to make MEGABED
So I realized this week that protests in Guatemala are about just as ineffective as they are in the states.
So Pday was good, the temple was good, being in my old ward was good, being in my old house wasn't super good tbh. We had to sleep on two very uncomfy cots and the new missionaries left it very sucio.
Anyway we had to leave Xela at like 430 in the morning. We got on a bus and there was no one on it. I shut my eyes for like 5 minutes and when I opened them they were squeezing 3 to a seat and the whole aisle was full. It was packed. So we were on the way to HueHue and the bus decided to take a weird route so they turned off the highway onto a tiny dirtroad in some random aldea. We kept going for about 20 min, pretty mad, when we came to a halt.
There was a bunch of jovenes and middle aged people blocking the road. They only had a rope and a few medium sized rocks. They didn't have signs, and they weren't chanting anything. They were just sitting there. It was so lame. I still don't know what they were protesting. We were stuck for like an hour and a half and so we just decided to walk to Huehue about a mountain away. Luckily on the way a Flete passed and we hitchhiked, grabbed another very packed bus, and went to Santa Ana. I was on a tire seat and were three to a seat and I couldn't feel my legs. We got back at like 2Ñ30. It was a very long day of travel. When we got to Santa Ana our boy Robin Valasquez happened to be there. He wasnt in Xela when we went, we kinda switched places, but we had lunch with him and it was awesome.
The next day I went on divisions with a guy from Costa Rica. Hes super chill. We had a lesson with this girl that was kinda mas o menos positiva and we honestly didnt visit her for a lot of time. But we came back and she was ready to luchar. It honestly wasnt that bad, she wasn't like bible bashing. Basically she just had a lot of questions and she wouldn't let us answer and she also wouldnt listen to logic. But thats not anything different. But she said we can come back so we’ve been thinking of some good respuestas.
Sunday, the people that were supposed to give talks didn't come. Usually we're ready to say something but Pres. Wayner likes to call other people first so we don't end up doing the whole meeting. He called one girl to give one and literally everyone yelled, she's not here. So he told us to come up and we gave some bomb talks.
Later the zone leaders came to our house because we had an activity de zona for pday. It was super lit. We took our mattresses off the bed and put them together to make MEGABED. I guess it wasn’t the most comfortable but it was awesome.
Monday we waited for the other areas to get to Santa Ana and then we went to a guy that took us to a cave. It was a bit of a hike but the cave he took us to was so awesome. It was huge and it went back so far that it was just pitch black. The man took us through a few tunnels and it was a bit sketchy at parts but it came to a river. In the middle of the cave. There were fish in it. Also it felt like it was raining by the river cuz of all the water falling from the top of the cave. We could’ve explored a lot more but the group wanted to go back. So me and EH might come back in a few weeks. After that we just came back and ate and now we’re at a place to write sooo yeah. Adiooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos
