Week 26: Elder Hinckley writes

Note: Danny's email was deleted while he was talking to us on the phone.  And he didn't have any more time to write another one.  So this accounting is from Elder Hinckley, Danny's companion.

It was a quick week. Lots of good stuff, we have an investigator named Madelin, she's more or less a good investigator but for some reason every time we teach her she has some other friend over at her house or something so from like our three lessons with her this week we got 4 new references so now all her friends can be taught too. Haha funny stuff.

On the subject of random references. We were walking up on the backside of Santa Ana and this little kid popped out of a tree and asked us who we were looking for. We told him people to listen our message and he told us that he would introduce us to everyone. So we walked from house to house and he introduced us to everyone so that was cool haha. Now at the least we know the whole street haha.

They've started selling these fruits called Jocotes I can't remember if I mentioned them in the last email, but everyone is selling them super super cheap they are basically like tiny apples that are super juicy. There is a weird aftertaste but so you just eat tons so you only have to have the aftertaste like once. And its easy to eat a ton because everyone is selling them so they are super cheap. I can buy like a whole basket for like 25 Quetzales. It's wild stuff but its nice.

Haha so we had a Branch Activity this last Saturday it consisted of everyone besides the Elders swimming in the river like everyone up to the older ladies and dudes it was fun we ate some good food too and me and Elder Severe just went and scoped out potential baptism spots haha. Life of an Elder am I right.?

So anyways, Domingo was just a loco day. We went up to the church at 8 cause we are now starting the Sacrament meeting at 9. So we got there and set up the sacrament and the chairs and no one was showing up.  Finally Hermana Gaby showed up at like 8:55 looking flustered.  So we went and sat down in the Chapel and then like 20 minutes later people started to come in but the Branch president still wasn't there.  More people showed up and so we called him for the thousandth time and he finally picked up the phone and he told us he had forgotten about the 9 o'clock startup but it was like 945 so he ran down from his house looking very disheveled.

We finally started the reunion sacramental at 10 and we got to do a baby blessing and the baby's dad doesn't have the priesthood so I held the baby as Elder Severe blessed it. Needless to say, I strongly believe that babies have like a 6th sense. They don't even know how to walk, but they know when an unexperienced Elder is holding them and they just scream haha. Was a good time.

We fixed a fence this week. It was fun.

PS
So another funny story I just thought of it while typing. We were on our way to Church at 8 am and we passed this drunk guy in the street.  He decided to be a comedian and yell at us in crappy english, so Elder Severe stops and just says "LETS GO TO CHURCH" and the guy blew us off and walked away.  But then sure enough at 915 guess who came walking into the church (Still half-drunk) haha. But he came and he was quite funny to watch. But he seemed to enjoy it, so we got his number. We will go see where he lives and figure it out.
