Week 29: The Hairy Hatheway Hall of Fame

Tuesday I went on divisions with a guy named Elder Mattson. He's from Maryland and he's a super good guy. Kind of a more boring day of work. We met a guy a few weeks ago that seemed positive. We went to his house and turned out he's been a member for 40 years. Now he goes to the pentecostes church.
Wednesday we met back up for divisions and they came to our house to meet up and we relieved a text from the APs saying we have another meeting in Hue Hue the next week. It's like our 5th time going there and we don't have money, so we were all mad. Elder Matson's comps a latino and he was super mad and like yelling in Spanish and it was pretty funny.

After we went to Nenton. First we went to Samuels house and we had a good little talk. We told him about the Best Two Years the last time and he watched it. Said he liked it a lot so we told him about like 17 milagros and like Ephraims rescue. Then we talked about the pioneers and he seemed really interested in that. Then we watched John Tanner and he loved it. It's a good little video.

After we went to eat with an hermana from Santa Ana who was visiting a daughter in Nenton.
After that we went to see the man. Ernesto was walking out his door. Said he had to go sign a bunch of papers for like this important meeting but that he was gonna wait until after we talked. He said he had a doubt about baby baptisms but then stumbled upon Moroni 8 and he loved it and totally resolved everything so we didnt need to. Then he told us to wait while he went to the back room. He came back 15 min later with sandwiches and smoothies from a restaurant.

Later that night we had Noche de Hermanamiento in a place called buxup. We rented a bus to go out there just to visit one family but it seemed like everyone had a good time. We taught about the 10 virgins.

We also got back late because everyone wanted to stay for a long time. But we had to clean our house super good because a week earlier P. Diaz said he was going to all the houses the next thursday to see if they're clean and in order. So we stayed up a little bit extra too, mopping the floor and stuff. We also printed out like 60 pics of Presidente and put them all over our room. We thought it would be kinda funny. He didn't come tho. The pics are still up and I still think it was worth it.

Thursday was one of the longest days Ive had in a long time. Nobody wanted to talk and we had no citas and yeah it was kinda the worst.

Friday we did divisions with the zone leaders. I went with a guy named E. Hathaway. Interesting hombre. We had a decent day. It rained which was pretty rico. We found this one family that at first wouldn't let us talk to them. The lady wanted us gone and said her husband was mad at us. I was like, he knew we were coming over_ and she was like, no but he's a very jealous man and if he sees other men here he beats me. It went zero to 100 very rapido. We asked we could pray for anything and she said just that my kids wont be scared when my husband beats me. It was super sad. She wouldn't let us come back mucho because she didn't want us to be there without her husband but that also if we were there with her husband he'd kill us. But she said we could teach her sons. One of them we taught before.

Anyway that night was awesome because we did our first mutual activity that they've done in years. We played soccer at a turf field. We were hyping it up the whole week and wed tell all the soccer guys at the concha to pull up and they said they would. We went to the church at 630 and nobody came. P. Wayner came at 645 and was like why is nobody here and I was like dude you're literally supposed to be leading this. So I gave a bunch of people a call and like 5 people came by 7. I told them they would all be at the field but p.w wanted to do a spiritual message in the capilla. So we waited a bit longer and then p.w. Said he had to go home to change into soccer clothes. So i facepalmed and told my comp we were going to buscar jovenes.

We walked around the city looking for kids and telling them to go to the field. Then we got to the field and sure enough, there were kids waiting there. My boi carlos, the kid we reactivated brought all his friends. We played around a bit before and then we gathered around and I shared a scripture and then we divided up into teams and we played. It was actually super awesome and super successful like 25 people came. Also E.H isn't the most coordinated so it was kinda funny to watch. Also he's the most hairy man alive. He has just a crazy amount of hair on his back and chest and arms. So he has this thing called the hairy Hatheway hall of fame and its not very big but you get on it if you shave his back. My first comp Elder Nicholes was on it so of course I had to follow in his footsteps.

Saturday we went to the family we contacted the day before to see if they could talk. No one was there except one of the sons. Not the one we taught. But he was super positive and said his brother that we did teach had been reading the bom since we gave it to him. He however, cant read and is a bit slow but a super nice guy nonetheless and were super excited to teach him and his bro and hopefully the rest of his family and maybe do something about the dad. After we met a bunch of crazy bolos that wanted us to talk to them. One guy didn't seem bolo and looked like a nice guy so we went to talk. Turns out, he's a pastor of one of the evangelical churches and he started to bible bash us pretty hard. He was kinda drunk tho so he just had no good arguments. It was pretty wild though.

Sunday a secretary from the mission came and roasted the rama for being super lazy pretty much. It was kinda awesome. Later we took our convert Moises and P.W on some visits and later we ate dinner with Moi and his family.

Monday we woke up early to go to Nentón. Ernesto took us to this cave bien lejos from civilization. We were pretty close to Mexico. We hiked like 5 miles to get there. It was super rocky and mountainous and just everyone we talked to lied and said it was closer than it was. We thought we were going to see some dope Mayan Ruins but it was just like this weird structure inside the cave. It did look pretty old but idk if its like Mayan. Also the guide told us to leave our God at the entrance because we were entering the realm of the patron. Which I think is satan. Then he did a weird prayer in Chuj and then we entered. It was a cool little cave with ruins but idk if it was worth the Journey. But Ernesto came so it was worth it. He was dying. At first he was so ready to just take it on but like half way in he was just struggling. I felt bad it was a hard walk but it was fun. I forgot my camera but Ernesto has the pics so I'll probably get those soon.
