Week 30 part 2: Idk why they always have to protest when I'm the one traveling.

Hey so crazy story. Today we went in for changes. We had to wake up at 3 am to get there at 7. The only problem was. As we were about to get there, leaving the mountains and into the valley, we got stopped. We were still about 30 min away and about an hour until the meeting started.  We stayed stopped for awhile and then we saw a crowd of people swarming our bus. Or really just walking around it. But it was tons of people and they were all yelling at us. But they moved past us.

Apparently they were protesting the roads in Guatemala by blocking the roads. They put two big buses in front in the middle of an intersection to like the biggest highways in the country. At least in the mission. The people all walked past us to go block off a new area.

After they left, our bus couldn't move so we had to walk. We unloaded all the heavy suit cases for those that had changes and started to walk. We walked a really long way actually maybe 2 miles. We finally got past all the dumb protests and then we were able to take a different bus to the meeting. We ended up being 2 hours late for the meeting. Idk why they always have to protest when 'm the one traveling.

We had the meeting delayed and we got our new companions. Mine's a chicano or an American that has latino parents. Which is nice for me because he can help me with my Spanish but I can talk to him in English. He's from Utah. He's pretty cool but super quiet.  Probably the worst part about all of this is that it affected the new missionaries coming from the mtc. They got stopped at the same place and had to walk. That would've messed me up if that happened on my first day.

So the roads have been blocked all day and we couldn't get home, so Presidente got a hotel for all of us that couldn't get back to our areas. Like 35 people.  The good thing is, since we cant send 35 people to an area to work, we got another pday today. The problem is, we don't get pday next week:/ but we do get to email at least.

So today we got all of our stuff in the hotel and then went and played bowling. It was pretty fun. After we went and ate at this place that makes super good burgers. Like almost a burger from the states. Then we went to megapaca. Basically DI but here. Actually I think they get all their clothes from DI because we always find shirts from schools from Utah. Now I'm writing and after Idk. But yeah adios.
