Week 33: HE RAN OVER A COW!
Hey guys, Ill go ahead and talk about my week now.
Monday we had to travel to HH for a multizona emergencia. Which means Emergency Multizone. So thats always fun. We slept in house with like 10 other guys. We tried to order pizza hut but they didnt deliver to where we were so I didnt eat dinner that night or breakfast in the morning. Que triste. But the multizona we had was pretty awesome.
We all thought he was just gonna machete us and tell us to arrepentirnos for being inicuo and breaking rules but instead, he did the opposite. Usually in the multizonas we talk about numbers and stuff and reasons why we dont baptize but this time we didnt even mentions numbers. He just gave us a pump up spiritual message.
He shared like 5000 scriptures and one of them was Apocalipsis 12:7-11. It talks about the war in heaven and how we defeated Satan. It says we defeated him by the blood of the lamb. Which brought us to talk about the infinite atonement. Because this was before the world was created and so how could the blood of christ save us if he died thousands of years later_ Its because the atonement goes infinitely in both directions. We talked about how thats how God works. Infinitely. DyC 10 says, “I the Lord am bound when you do what i say but when you do not what I say, ye have no promise.”
The lord is bound and when he promises something it's basically already done or given. That's why in 1Nefi 5:5 Lehi can say he already obtained his land of promise even though they were still in the desert. So P. Diaz gave us some promises and said that we've already obtained the reward we just need to have faith and keep the mandamientos.
Then we talked about the premortal life again and about how we were all chosen before this life to be called to this mission at this time under this mission president and etc. It said that we were chosen because of our exceedingly great faith. So P.D. told us that when we came on the mission we didn't come to learn faith. Even now we aren't learning faith. We already had faith. An exceedingly great faith. We just need to show it.
So yeah that was pretty cool. Oh yeah so the best part, the reason why it was emergencia was because, instead of giving more rules and telling us to follow them, he literally took away all the rules. We have a missionary handbook that has the rules for missions worldwide but each mission can make additional rules. We had a bunch of dumb, I mean not so great, rules. Now we just follow the missionary handbook which is pretty awesome.
The rule everyone freaked out about was coke. Now we can drink coke. It's not really a big deal for me but at least now we don't have to turn it town when people give it to us.
So yeah good multizona. Oh also, one of my friends was in the most touristy part in the mission for 6 months so he bought tons of souvenirs. Then he got changed and couldn't fit it all in his suitcase. So he gave me a pretty sweet mask.
Ok next. Wednesday we went to the libertad. The place where my boy Gilmer lives. Gilmer is a bit different. He has some sort of handicap but idk what. But he's the most active in the rama and he lives 2 hours away. He picked us up in the town center and drove us to his house. When he pulled into his house we hit a bump. Then we heard a pretty scary moan, scream. Gilmer looked at us, shocked, then kept going.
HE RAN OVER A COW! The whole cow. Straight over the stomach. He started freaking out and shouting but he only shouted in broken english so it was kinda funny. It was his. His brother said he can't use his truck anymore. But he wasn't that mad because the cow was fine. Idk how. It didn't get injured at all. Not a broken bone or even a limp. It was a milagro. I guess because he wanted us to visit him so bad and hes trying so hard to be fiel God helped him out. He reads the BOM for like 30 min or more everyday. Pilas.
Thursday idk if anything noteworthy happened.
Friday I went on divisions with my zone lider elder duncan. Hes a cool guy and it was nice because I actually talked and he responded and then I responded to that and then he responded to that. It's been a while. Also that night we had a pretty cool cita. We went with this inactive lady that i've always known about but just never visited. So we visited her and she turned out to be pretty cool. Found out she has some problems. I shared something, my comp shared somethings and she told us that she knew we were sent from God. She said that missionaries always come at the right moment and know what to say. She said she has exmissionary friends on facebook that always remember her and send her things when she needs them. It was a pretty good experience.
Saturday was the baptism of a kid in our ward. He lives about an hour away and the rio where we live is sucio so they just did it in a pool by their house. We got a guy in our rama to take us in the back of us truck or flete and so we had a bunch of people from the rama go. Hour flete rides are the best. The baptism was nice. The pool was pretty nasty though. It was green. Probably would've been better to do it in the muddy river tbh.
The rivers super muddy now because its raining like every other day now and its so nice. Its just weird though because it will always come out of nowhere. Like today, Sunday was like the hottest day I've had in a long time. I wanted to die and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Then at like 4 while we were doing studies, it started to rain super hard. I like the rain. Especially cuz it cools everything down. Plus now everythings turning green which is nice and pretty.
Sunday we had church like normal but also today were the votacions. In other words, the elections. For the past 5 months people have been campaigning. The political scene is way crazier here. Theres like 25 parties and I'm pretty sure every candidate for pres. Has some sort of criminal past or allegation against them . They also have every part of the government change at the same time. All the way down to the mayor. So I got to know a few of the mayor candidates. So no one came to church because the went to vote. Like 15 or 20 people came. Not even the branch presidents wife came. And she had a talk. So I had to give it for her. Everyones was going crazy about the elections so I'm pretty interested to see how it turns out.
For pday we went and played soccer as a zone. It was fun but I always think its kinda a waste to play soccer when we have so much we can do. Especially because everyone in the zone is new. I still dont know who won the election.
Oh and happy fathers day to the mejorest dad and Happy birthday to my hermosa hermana.
