Week 37: July 22, 2019: Buena Onda
Tuesday, I had my first district meeting. It went pretty well. My district's just the zone leaders who are both way cool, my comp, another latino thats mas o menos and another gringo who's pretty awesome tambian. Afterward we had cookies because hna Marble baked them for us and gave them to our zone leaders. After that we had some citas, ya know, the ush. Us. usj saber usual.
Miercoles I went on divisions with my zone leader Elder Almeida. He's from Brazil and he's so sick. His area is just puack. Or rather, his area has a lot of money. All the houses are super nice. I think I saw one made out of wood. We ate lunch with a lady that had a spa. She gave us some rico food. The day was pretty slow though. We walked all over their huge area and pretty much contacted the whole time because all the citas fell. E.A taught me a bit of Portugeis.
Thursday we were going to a cita and it fell but then we found a member filling pot holes in the road. We asked him if he needed help and he actually said yes. The city was already fixing it but he volunteered to help because he's buena onda. We ended up helping him for two hours. The man was 70 but his body works better than mine because the next day my back hurt sooo bad.
Friday we had a cita with this lady that doesn't speak a lot of Spanish. Weve tried teaching here a few times but she just doesn't understand a lot. So we were looking around the whole week for a translator. There isn't anyone in our ward that speaks Quiche or in Villa Hermosa or in Bougambilious, the other two closest areas. But there was one in Las Americas, area of the ZLs, a bit farther. Idk how nobody here speaks Quiche. Anyway we got here to come and help us but she didn't seem too happy to be there. But it went well and the investigdora seems pretty positive.
Saturday we went to an aldea called Chuisuc. But Xela aldeas are different than HueHue aldeas. In HH the aldeas have nothing, adobe houses. In Xela they just have puack. It was super surprising. But we had a cita with this one guy named Jose. We met him in the street a while ago and he was super positive. He actually helped build the temple. He's a bit different and doesn't understand a whole lot but he's pretty pilas and three kids. We were able to put a fecha with them so that was pretty awesome.
Sunday was probably the best Sunday I've had in the mission. We had 8 asistencias. And thats without the kids of Jose because only him and his wife came. Apart from them we have a lot of really good investigators and contacts. So yeah we're feeling pretty good today.
Monday we went and played soccer as a zone again. Then I went to Megapaca which is like chapin DI. I got some nice sweaters. Then went and got some Little Caesars and after my neighbor who's a
chiropractor fixed my back a little bit.
Anyway thats it for me.
