Week 45: September 16, 2019 His rebelde son was being super rebelde

Hola pues

Last monday wasn't anything too special. For us at least. The hermanas on the other hand had a party. All the hermanas in the mission went to a trampoline park and after that had a huge lunch and then watched moana. We just played soccer like we do every week. After that I went to Mega paca *gasta menos compra mas( and bought some nice viejito sweaters. That's pretty much it.

Tuesday we had district meeting. I got a call early in the morning from some hermanas saying that they couldn't take a shower cuz their shower was broken. They asked if they could wait for it to be fixed and then come late. I asked when it would be ready, they said 9. District meeting starts at 1030 and so I asked why they would need an hour and a half to take a shower. They gave a bunch of excuses but I told them no. That they had to get there on time. They got there an hour late. Freakin hmnas.

After that we had a lesson with Jose and his wife. Usually his kids never listen to us but this time two of them were there. We were kinda happy but i think their parents just made them be there for being rebeldes. We taught them about the priesthood and they asked to pray that their kids have the priesthood so they could stop being rebeldes. Then we asked if we could do anything for them and they just asked us to give their rebelde kids some advice. I just told them to like respect their parents and what not and jose was like, SI RESPETEN A SUS PADRES STOP BEING SO REBELDES. And then just went off for like 20 minutes about how the oldest son who has like 17 was sneakin out with his 14 yo cousin commiting iniquidades and what not. It was a bit loco.

After that we went with a family that weve gone with before. They dont understand a whole lot of what we say but they love to have us there. Theyre also super evangelical. They asked us if we listen to Worldly music, i knew instantly it was a trap but I didnt know how to respond. I just said that all the music I listen to is in English so they wouldnt know any of it. They were like, Oh like justin bieber? And I was like YES that is my boi. And they were like oh yeah hes super worldly. And I was like oh dang it. So then they started singing their hymns to show us how holy they were and then they asked us to sing one of ours, first in spanish and then in english. We started to sing and then the two teenage girls just started filming. It was super awkward cuz then after when we started to teach they just would randomly walk over to me and take a selfie with me and then ask me if I think I look chulo. It was pretty interesting experience. But the rest of the week wasnt as interesante.

Nothing super interesting happened wednesday.

Thursday we had lesson with some investigators from a different area. They live right on the border of our areas and they dont really like the missionaries who are teaching them so they asked us to teach them. Theyre pretty cool.

Ones 21 the others 14 and the last 12 but they're all pretty mature. They've been eternal investigators for like 6 months. They want to get baptized but their mom wont give permission. We started talking to them and they had a bunch of crazy doubts like who made God and stuff like that and so to answer them we talked about like Joseph Smith and the book of mormon and then we found out they don't know who Js is or what the book of mormon is. So then we had to teach them that and basically the whole restauration. They understood it pretty well but it made me kinda mad. These missionaries and tons of people from the ward have been begging the mom for months to give the kids permission and she's just annoyed. On top of that they  havent taught these kids anything. They have been investigators for months and they dont know the most basic things. So we just told them to wait to ask the mom until they have a testimony.

Friday I went on divisions with Elder Bair my ZL. He's pretty cool and from arizona. They live in the area of the temple and have baptized 3 out of the 4 temple guards within the past month. So we went to teach them. They're super cool and were showing us all the security footage of the temple it was pretty interesting. After that all the citas fell like they always do on divisions.

On Saturday nothing happened either.

Domingo was kinda crazy though. On saturday we kept trying to call Jose to see if he was coming to church. We usually need like a solid yes so we can get him a ride because he lives so far away. But he wasn't answering. So Sunday in the morning we called and

his rebelde son was being super rebelde. He just hung up when he heard it was us. So we took a change and went to get him anyway and luckily he was ready to go to church and it was all good.

Then after church I had to go to this one place called San Miguel to do an interview it was also independence day here so there weren't a lot of buses. But we were able to catch one and there were like 50 people on it so i got up and preached like an evangelical pastor. It was pretty liberating. San miguel is a pretty cool little aldea with a lot of corn. We did the interview and one of them didn't pass because he was still drinking alcohol. After we had to hustle back to our area because there was like a devotional for jovenes with elder suares. There weren't any buses though so we ended up just hitchhiking and were like 40 minutes late which was kinda sad. Then we had a lesson with mynor and aurora. They like weren't paying attention at all and there was just a lot of commotion. So I had to give them a little bit of cincho. I told them we love being their friends and what not but were here to share a message and if they want to hear it well give it to them but if not then we'd leave. Aurora was a little mad by it but then they payed attention and it was pretty good.

After that we went to Alberts house because it was his wife's birthday. We had this drink called cremitas and it's basically just like milk, cream and vanilla i think, but it's riquisimo.

Also I had gripe pretty much the whole week because it rained a lot.

Monday was pretty fun. Since the hermanas had a big activity last week, we had our own. There was like 60 elders there and we had a soccer tournament. My team won. We were super stacked though. We had the two APs, one is gonna play soccer in college, one super good guy from panama, my comp whos pretty decent, and I mean I'd say I'm not the worst at soccer either. After they bought us all pizzas. But yeah that's what happened this week.
