Week 46: September 24, 2109 I heard a pop and then I went down
Okay so funny story.
Last week when we were playing futbol I hurt myself pretty bad. I had the ball by the goal and the goalie tried to dive to get the ball. I was too quick for him tho and passed it before he could get it. Then I tried to jump over him or he just dove into my leg, saber, but I heard a pop and then I went down. Literally no one saw it or just everyone was mala onda because no one helped me up. I thought I was down for the count but eventually I got up and hobbled off to the side. I was able to get a knee brace and then played the next game on one foot just kinda staying in one spot and kicking the ball when it came to me. I managed to get two assists tambien. After that I gave up and just chilled the rest of the day. I didn't think it was that bad and so I didn't want to go to the hospital. The nurse told me to test it out a few days and then let her know. But the next day she told me she was worried about me and set a doctors appt.
So the next day, tuesday, I got to spend the whole day with the legendary Elder Don Marble. He's the viejito secretary of the mission. First we went to get an xray. We were there for like two hours. Then we went to check the results. The doctor couldn't see anything wrong with the x ray but said like I strained the ligaments or something like that on the inside of my knee. So I just have to wear I fat brace for three weeks and use crutches for 10 days.
Wednesday I thought it would be easy to use the crutches to get around so we planned a full day of work. I took 10 steps out the door and knew that wouldn't work. So basically this week was just the worst. We didnt leave a whole lot and when we did it took like an hour to get places. The first few days it felt like i was just doing a full upper body workout for 5 hours straight. I was so sore. But by domingo I was able to walk at almost a normal pace without too many problems.
Honestly nothing too crazy has happened this week. Just a lot of scripture study. Ive really come to appreciate the antiguo testamento, or old testamento in english. I think life of king david is super inspiring but also sad. A lot to learn from. Theres a lot of things that I didn't know that actually has helped me a lot as a missionary. Not necessarily doctrinally, that helps in lessons but more in a sense of like how to be a better disciple of christ.
Yeah but that's kind of what my week consisted of. This week I imagine will be a bit of the same except for Ill be able to work a lot more.
Monday we didn't have pday because tuesday we went to the temple. Every 6 months we get to go to the temple as zones. It feels like I just barely went with zona colo but this time it was wit zona santa fe. It was super cool and its always a super good experience everytime I go. After that we went and made ceviches with a bunch of peruvians. It's a bunch of raw fish with onions and lemon juice. It's a big mas o menos/10. But yeah thats what my week consisted of.
