December 16, 2019: I'm 99 percent sure I have fleas now but de plano.
Okay so this week actually went by pretty slow but a lot of interesting things happened.
Monday after pday we had to go to sleep in a house called Calvario so that we could catch the bus to Xela the next morning. There were 10 missionaries there so it was pretty crazy and there weren't enough beds. So we megabeded. We put three beds together and fit four. Not super comfortable and I'm 99 percent sure I have fleas now but de plano.
We woke up at 3:30 and got to Xela at like 7:30ish. Usually, we do two different multizonas, one in Hue Hue, one in Xela. This time it was with the whole mission. It was pretty crazy. We had a little devotional but it was a super short message and then we just played games. It was a whole lot different than last year because of all the extra people. We could hardly fit everyone in.
After we did a gift exchange which took forever. I got chocolate and a little toy that was broken.
Then we ate lunch and after we did the skits. It was kinda lame because our zone went first but it ended up being alright. We did Elder Potter and I had some doubts but it turned out really well. I mean I hate to be that guy but it was the best one by far. It felt kinda like the Timpanogos spirit bowl. Everyone was super hyped and going crazy. The skits got progressively worse. There were a lot of funny ones but a lot of them just dragged on forever. The one last year was probably like 1:30 to 2 hours. This one was a solid 4. So by the last one everyone was just done. There were a lot of borderline jokes. I kept thinking P. Diaz would get mad but he's just the boy so he was just laughing the whole time.
That night we had to get back to Hue Hue So we left at like 6 and got there at like 9:30. But the ride back was pretty interesting. All the Latinos were going crazy and literally just eating chilies for fun. Elder Maddox came in clutch for the gringos and ate 5. Then he died because we didn't have any water. We got to Calvario and there weren't any buses and none of the members were answering their phones so we had to walk. We got back at 10:30. Super long day.
For December were supposed to have these things called noches de hogar. Where the members invite an investigator and we share a Christmas message. We're supposed to have one or more every night but thus far, we've had 3. One of these was a 15 yr old convert of 1 year. Pilas. It was him and his little brother titi that we baptized a month ago and their friend. They're more pilas than all the other members.
We've been visiting Dylan everyday. We've gotten super close so he decided to open up a bit more. He told us everything that he did in the past and well, its a lot. I'm just gonna say he was in a really famous guatemalan gang called the dieziocho. So we have to have president Diaz interview him for his baptism. So pray that everything goes well. Because he's honestly so pilas and has a strong testimony now. He just had a rough past.
Sunday we had the primary program. Its a bit different then in the states but it was super cute and funny.
Later that night we were walking in a random place in my area I've never been before. I had the feeling to stop and go into this sketchy callejon and I saw this huge house. So I was like Bah were contacting this. Turned out to be like the most positive guy Ive contacted. He talked with the missionaries like 3 years ago and they never came back to he was kinda sad. He doesn't have a church but he believes in God, something extremely rare here, and he wanted to know about the BOM.
Remember how i said last week nobody understands geography and logic here_ Well this guy literally said well if God had prophets on this side of the world, LOGICALLY, he would have them on this side of the world too. Me and my comp just looked at each other, mouth open. I couldn't believe what heard. But yeah he's super interested.
Also we got the changes call last night and nobody in our whole zone has changes. I have never seen that before. Maybe it's cuz our skit was so fire.
Today we caroled in the park for our zone activity. I wasn't super pumped about it but it ended being pretty fun. After our bishop took us to this one place to see the nacimiento of a river or a birth of a river. Idk basically it was the start of the river. It was super fun though. They took us to eat and plus their like one of my favorite families I've meet so it was a pretty good time.
